The Witches (1990)

Luke is an orphaned boy who accompanies his sick grandmother, Helga, to a hotel near the sea for a change of air on doctor's advice. Once there, Luke discovers that a convention of witches, who appear to be ordinary women, is taking place and are preparing a plot against the children of the world. The film, which is a transposition of Roald Dahl's book, features a terrifying characterization of the witches and a captivating performance by Anjelica Huston.
