Hong 2 Run 44 (1992)

Set in Bangkok, this film follows the lives of a group of women who are former high school classmates. Two enter the Miss Thailand contest, and one refuses while another accepts the offer to be an older man's "kept woman." One works for a TV news program where she researches country girl who come to Bangkok to "sell themselves." She also meets man who dies AIDS, which sets her off on a one-woman crusade that causes a breakup with her boyfriend.
