Storyline: In 1917, Ellis Humphrey Evans, a poet from rural Wales writing as “Hedd Wyn,” submits his work to the National Eisteddfod—the most coveted prize in Welsh poetry—while preparing to join the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Though conflicted about the war, he leaves his village for the trenches of Flanders, unaware his legacy will be shaped by both triumph and tragedy.
