Nomos 4000 (1962)

Early 1960s Greece. Plagued by intolerable ennui, the rowdy Athenian Teddy Boys find creative ways to channel their bottled-up angst. But Yorgos, the troubled son of a respectable family on the verge of collapse, is another story: the young man wants to finish school and make a difference. In the meantime, Maria, the inexperienced daughter of a puritanical philologist, struggles to get away with a secret relationship. And as unforeseen complications trigger a life-threatening situation, a head-on confrontation between teacher and student is inevitable. When morality and society are at odds, is law 4.000 the solution?
