Oranges amères (1996)

Algiers, 1945, after the Allied victory. Life passes in joy for Angèle and her sister Alice, mother for the second time. But already tensions and gaps between different communities are growing. The budding passion between Angèle and Saïd strengthens, going against the tide of a world which is already tipping into hatred.
