Live Flesh (1997)

Captivated by Elena, an Italian junkie, Victor's life takes a dark turn when a police intervention, mistaken for a rape attempt, leaves officer David paralyzed. Four years later, David, now a wheelchair basketball star, is happily married to Elena. However, Victor's release from prison brings an unexpected twist as he inserts himself into the lives of the couple that left him behind bars. Directed by Pedro Almodóvar, and featuring Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, the film explores the complex web of life, love, longing, and everything that lies in the midst.
