Storyline:  A young seminary graduate is overjoyed to secure a prestigious post as a village parson, only to face an unsettling twist: he must marry the elderly widow of the previous parson. Bound by this strange obligation and desperate to please his fiancée, he agrees, but soon finds himself entangled in the mud of manipulation, secrets, and power struggles, questioning his own morals and the true nature of those around him.
