The Faithful Heart (1923)

In the gritty port city of Marseille, Marie, an orphan-turned-servant, yearns for escape from her brutal adoptive family and a desperate love affair with the volatile Paul. Her heart, however, belongs to Jean, a kind dockworker. Marie finds herself trapped in a cycle of violence and despair until a glimmer of hope emerges in the form of unlikely allies.
