Polly Heath, objecting to her aunt's attempts to marry her off to Dick Barton, a respectable businessman, runs away to join her friend Zoe Dean in an art colony. Polly becomes fascinated with Paul Lamont, a futuristic poet, who neglects to tell her that he is married and the father of two children. When Lamont invites her to his studio one night, having sent the family away, one of the children arouses his wife's suspicions and she returns home to surprise Lamont making love to Polly. Polly joins Mrs. Lamont in denouncing the philanderer, and Dick, ready to cancel his engagement, accepts Zoe's explanation and the affections of Polly, who is now reconciled to marry him.
