In a theatrical boarding-house, Eric, the last descendant of a once-great acting family, struggles with his luck. When offered the role of Hamlet in a London production, he trains under a faded former star and achieves tremendous success. However, his newfound fame leads him to forget the friends who supported him along the way. This silent comedy draws inspiration from the Barrymore dynasty, capturing both the highs and lows of the theatrical life.
