The Docks of New York (1928)

A stoker on a coal-fired barge in early 20th-century New York rescues a drowning prostitute, Mae, from the docks, pulling her from the brink of despair. As he takes her to the seedy Sandbar saloon, he finds himself drawn to her troubled beauty. As they navigate a night of fleeting tenderness and unexpected violence, they get mixed up in a river of raw emotions, jealousy, and desperation.
