Crossroads (1928)

A young man becomes infatuated with the enigmatic courtesan O-ume, but his obsessive pursuit drives her away. In a desperate and violent confrontation, he seemingly kills his rival and is blinded in the process. As his sister seeks a cure for his blindness, she falls prey to a deceitful man posing as a doctor demanding exorbitant fees. Desperate, she sacrifices her dignity, becoming a prostitute to save her brother.
