The End of St. Petersburg (1927)

In the turbulent days before World War I, a naive peasant arrives in St. Petersburg seeking work, lodging with a Bolshevik family. When unrest erupts at the Lebedev factory, he unwittingly betrays his hosts, leading to their arrest. Consumed by guilt, he confronts factory bosses, triggering a brutal confrontation and his conscription into the imperial army. As war ravages Russia, hunger and revolution brew.
