Dennis Shawn is the foreman of the timber holdings of an estate, the sole surviving heir of which is Marcia Livingston, a flapper who lives for jazz and gin. A lumber trust wants both the Livingston timber and the neighboring estate of an old lady. The woman refuses to sell her land, and she demands from Marcia, in return for this refusal, the right to choose Marcia's husband. Marcia agrees, and she and Dennis are married by telephone. Marcia refuses to live with Dennis, so the rugged lumberman kidnaps her from her Park Avenue roost and takes her to the North Country. She and Dennis eventually learn to love each other, preserving the Livingston timber holdings intact.
