Lightnin' Smith Returns (1931)

John Smith is a writer of western novels but has never been west of the Hudson River. Hlen Parker invites him to visit her Texas ranch and get a real feel of the real west. Once he arrives, she and her cowhands frame him to appear as a notorious bandit. But, then, the real bandit shows up.
