The Prisoner of Shark Island (1936)

On a dark night in 1865 United States, a wounded man comes to Dr. Samuel Mudd's door. Unaware of his new patient's true identity, he tends to his broken leg. But when the Union's army comes searching for him, he learns of his true identity: John Wilkes Booth, President Lincoln's assassin, and he is convicted as an accomplice. Sent to the pestilence-ridden Dry Tortuga, he must use his medicinal knowledge to tend to his fellow inmates.
