The World Moves On (1934)

Richard Girard, part of a New Orleans family of cotton merchants, becomes entwined with the English Warburtons, who share business ties extending to France and Prussia. United by a pact formed in 1825, the families believed their multinational enterprise could endure even the aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars. But decades later, the resilience of their businesses faces its ultimate trial during World War I and the tumultuous years that follow.
