In 1922 Dublin, Gypo Nolan, a former Irish Republican Army member, struggles with poverty and despair after being expelled from the group. Desperate to escape his grim life, Gypo succumbs to temptation and betrays his fugitive comrade, Frankie, to the British. Hounded by his conscience and former allies, Gypo’s betrayal leads to a tragic reckoning as guilt, retribution, and a search for forgiveness close in on him.
