Sir Robin of Locksley, a Saxon noble, stands against the oppressive Norman rule in England after King Richard is captured during the Third Crusade. Prince John, declaring himself regent, heavily taxes the Saxons under the guise of raising a ransom. Robin saves Much the Miller's Son and clashes with John's ally, Sir Guy of Gisbourne. Declared an outlaw, Robin forms a band of Merry Men in Sherwood Forest, robbing the rich to aid the poor.
