Comedy about a kindly con artist painter who tries his luck with a rich widow. Taking place in Hungary in the 1930s, the hero of Rezsö Török's novel, the painter Gábor Sóváry, for all his kindness, is still broke. The only way he could make his way would be to marry a rich lady. Will he succeed?
