West of Cimarron (1941)

The Three Mesquiteers, "Stony" Brooke, "Tucson" Smith and "Lullaby" Joslin, return to Texas following the Civil War, and find themselves caught between two warring factions, the 'carpetbaggers' and the 'bushwhackers'. It isn't long before they discern that the latter faction is a group of local ranchers and citizens being systematically robbed under the guise of taxes by the civilian aide at the army post and his chief henchman, an army captain. They join the troop,sans uniforms, and work from within to root out the gang.
