A Foreign Affair (1948)

In post-war Berlin, a U.S. congressional committee investigates American troop morale amidst corruption and moral decay. Congresswoman Phoebe Frost, stern and by-the-book, becomes entangled in rumors about Erika von Schlütow, a cabaret singer with Nazi ties. Frost enlists Captain John Pringle, unaware he is Erika’s lover and protector. As tensions rise, revelations force Phoebe and Pringle to confront their loyalties.
