Fort Apache (1948)

Lieutenant Colonel Owen Thursday, a self-absorbed Civil War hero, is assigned to command the remote Fort Apache, where he clashes with the sensible Captain Kirby York. Thursday, driven by ambition and a desire for glory, disregards York’s expertise and the advice of his subordinates, leading to tensions with the local Apache tribe. His reckless pursuit of honor bring tragic consequences, leaving York to pick up the pieces.
