Under Capricorn (1949)

Irishman Charles Adare travels to Australia, seeking fortune alongside his cousin, the new Governor. He meets Sam Flusky, a wealthy ex-convict, and is invited to dinner at his estate. There, Charles discovers that Flusky's wife, Henrietta, is a childhood acquaintance and now a deeply troubled alcoholic. As Charles helps Henrietta reclaim her confidence, their bond deepens, sparking jealousy in Sam and escalating tensions.
