Rashomon (1950)

A samurai is murdered, and his wife assaulted. A bandit is captured, but at trial, everyone tells different, conflicting stories. A woodcutter, who discovered the body, claims to have seen the crime but offers yet another version. Sheltering from a storm at Rashomon gate, he and a priest recount the tale, questioning truth, justice, and human nature.
