A Bucket of Blood (1959)

Walter Paisley, a bumbling busboy at a beatnik café, envies the artistic talent of the patrons who frequent the joint. Desperate for recognition, Walter stumbles into accidental fame after a tragic mishap with his landlady's cat. Concealing his lack of artistic skill, Walter's gruesome secret drives him to create more "masterpieces" as the café crowd clamors for new work. But with each creation, his lie comes ever so close to discovery.
