Sûpâ jaiantsu - Jinkô eisei to jinrui no hametsu (1957)

The Supreme Council from the Emerald Planet sends the superhero Starman (Super Giant in Japan) to protect Earth from destruction by an evil alien race from the Sapphire Galaxy. The Sapphirians are out to destroy earth using a space station that can hurl a fiery "Death Star" and destroy the entire planet. Starman tries to disable the Sapphirian spacecraft en route, but an unfortunate meteor shower strikes before he can finish the job. On Earth, the Sapphirians are interested in a new rocket engine being developed by Dr. Yanamaka. They sabotage his plant. A post-accident investigation reveals that a new solenoid is needed. Yanamaka sends his daughter and son to fetch one. They just miss getting the last one in stock, being told the man walking out the door got it. They follow him to a hidden Sapphirian base underneath a graveyard. They send agents to notify Yanamaka of their hostages. At gunpoint, they escort Yanamaka and young engineer Asami back to the base. There, they use an advanced technology to mentally force them to Sapphirian loyalty. Starman arrives on Earth to discover abductions that have occurred. He takes on the entire protective squad of Sappherians, but the four prisoners are evacuated by rocket for delivery on the orbiting space station. Starman leaps into space in his next rescue effort. It takes them past the fiery surface of the Death Star.
