Storyline:  Joe “Tom” Yateley, an ex-convict seeking a fresh start, joins the demanding Hawlett Trucking company, where speed determines survival. He befriends secretary Lucy and driver Gino but becomes obsessed with beating veteran trucker Red’s record. Ignoring warnings, Tom faces hostility from his peers, and after Gino’s fatal accident, Lucy reveals the corruption behind the company’s ruthless system.
