The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957)

During WWII, British POWs in a Japanese camp are forced to build a bridge for the Burma-Siam railway. Colonel Nicholson takes control, believing a well-built bridge will boost morale and prove British superiority. Meanwhile, Allied intelligence plots to destroy it.
