Der Kaiser und das Wäschermädel (1957)

The pretty and ambitious Franzi Stiglmeier sells outdated fashion at the Springbrunn fashion house. She is engaged to Mr. von Schwan, but is actually in love with the artist Hans Herrlinger - which of course nobody should know. Together with Hans, she succeeds in modernising Springbrunn's range. In doing so, she not only drives Aunt Rosa to despair, but also the whole of Imperial Vienna into turmoil.
