A Man Escaped (1956)

In Lyon in 1943, Fontaine, a member of the French Resistance, is captured and taken to Montluc prison. Enduring severe beatings and the constant threat of execution, he communicates covertly with fellow prisoners, gaining their support. Fontaine meticulously chisels away at his cell door, fashioning tools and ropes from available materials. Despite skepticism and setbacks, Fontaine looks for a way to finally be free.
