Storyline:  At the Crawthorne State Training Institute, Dr. Matthew Clark leads a school for developmentally challenged children using strict methods. Jean Hansen, a former pianist seeking direction, joins as a music teacher and bonds with Reuben Widdicombe, a neglected autistic boy. Their opposing views on care force both adults to reassess how the children can be supported.
