Speed Crazy (1959)

This movie involves a character played by Brett Halsey named Nick Barrow. He introduces himself with "I'm Nick Barrow. You may know my brother Wheel." Nick travels around competing in races and along the way steals a car and races from one place to another to where he is finally trapped at a race. What happens next is a thrilling chase along the edge of a mountain.
