Storyline:  In 1943 Genoa, Grimaldi survives by posing as an Italian army colonel, taking money from families of prisoners detained by the Nazis. When he is arrested, the Gestapo offers a bargain: he must assume the identity of General Della Rovere, a recently executed Resistance figure, and enter a political prison to identify another Resistance leader. His fate now depends on carrying out the assignment.
