Storyline:  After the failure of Kossuth’s 1848 revolution, Austrian forces restore control over Hungary. To suppress the remaining partisans led by Sándor Rózsa, the army detains suspected supporters in a remote fortress. Uncertain of the rebels’ true identities, the authorities use calculated manipulation and coercion to expose and eliminate them.
