Patriotism (1966)

Noh-style dramatization of the love and suicide of Lieutenant Shinji Takeyama and his wife Reiko after the failure of the February 1936 coup d'état. Takeyama was a palace guard and, facing the certainty of having to kill his friends, decides to perform hara-kiri and Reiko surrenders to death with him.
