A married woman begins an extramarital love affair with a man at her husband's company. They are shown kissing, meeting up secretly and spending time together.

A widowed woman is shown embracing and kissing a man, implying a romantic relationship.

A man is murdered with a revolver; the murder is not actually shown, nor the body or any blood.

A man is shown as an inpatient in a mental hospital. The behavior of the patients is unsettling with an undercurrent of violence and begins to affect the behavior of the protagonist. He is shown being dragged from his psychiatrist's office back towards the state hospital.
