The Empire of Desire (1981)

Sandra, a wealthy widow, inherits her late husband's beach house and visits with her lover, Odilon. They encounter a variety of eccentric characters including a conservative lawyer, hippie housekeepers, and a local prophet. Their idyllic retreat is disrupted by tourists, activists, and other unexpected visitors, leading to comedic and chaotic situations.
