Great news awaits Zachos Markas--the prosperous and pampered president of the not-for-profit association, Spirit and Ethos--as his late uncle leaves him with a substantial and much-anticipated legacy. Under those circumstances, who cares if there's one tiny, yet inviolable condition to his decision? It certainly wouldn't be much of a problem if Zachos had to marry a certain Miss Aristea--the only person who stayed close to the deceased to the bitter end--to get his hands on such a handsome inheritance. However, when the delightful maiden proves to be a woman of classic beauty and unconventional looks, only an audacious and utterly perfidious machination would get Zachos off the hook, provided that someone else took his place--say, one of his unsuspecting and needy tenants, Notis and Kosmas.
