Anaconda (1954)

Swedish mondo film about the hunt for a giant Anaconda in the Amazon. During great tribulations, the expedition encounters savages, waterfalls, curare-poisoned arrows and cute monkey Laban. Beautiful Swedish pseudo-documentary about a Swedish expedition that in 1954 sets out to catch a huge snake in South America. The arduous journey goes by truck, mules, horses and canoe through the jungles of the Andes. The expedition buys a baby monkey in exchange for a mora knife, meets sloths, rooks and curious jungle Indians. Together with the Indians, they hunt wild boar and compete in blowpipe shooting. Blomberg offers a gramophone concert with Beethoven in front of the astonished savages. After many adventures, the expedition's hunters find an anaconda, and desperately try to get the attention of the others, but the snake slinks away. Will the expedition fail in its mission?
