Pivoting around the eternal dipole of man/woman, masculinity/femininity, Thanasis Rentzis' typically experimental film delves deep into the realm of sexuality and eroticism. Combining a plethora of diverse audiovisual techniques, including animation and live-action, the director's vision creates a dazzling kaleidoscope of moving pictures, and an intricate, inextricable, and sometimes, a perplexing amalgam of the various aspects of multi-faceted Eros. As a result, the archetypes of innocent youth and beauty, as they are portrayed in Daphnis and Chloe (1931), become intertwined with tear-jerking photo-novels, the sensual female physique, male dominance, and an assemblage of timeless symbols of rebellion.
