Hooligans (1983)

Unable to fit in and accept the norms of society, troubled Yorgos, an otherwise brilliant high school graduate who is at war with the world, runs away from home. As the rudderless youth meanders through Athens's mean streets, Yorgos has a chance encounter with Mihos, the violent leader of a dangerous gang of hooligans, who decides to take him under his wing. Now, for the first time in a long while, Yorgos believes that he has found purpose and meaning in life through brutality and unconditional devotion to the ultimate god: his beloved football team. However, Yorgos's newfound happiness demands sacrifice. How far is the uninitiated disciple willing to go in the name of his new family?
