His Greatest Battle (1925)

In a letter to his mother, Jack Randall lies that he now is a married ranch owner, prompting her to write back that she is coming for a visit. Meanwhile, after rescuing the daughter of a rancher, Jack is made the ranch foreman and the grateful girl offers to pretend to be his wife during his mother's visit. Later, when Jack is injured in a race, outlaw Royal Brown takes him to his shack to recuperate. The two discover that they are doubles, and later, when Brown commits a series of robberies, a grateful Jack provides an alibi for him.
