In "Tormenta en la Cumbre" (or Storm on the Mountainside), a successful Doctor falls into a severe depression upon first learning that he is terminally ill. As part of his way back to sound mental health, he and his supportive wife decide to make the best of this rather difficult situation by leaving the big city behind them. Together, the couple moves to a remote mountainside cabin where they plan to live a simpler, more rewarding life with each other. The Doctor starts off by providing medical care to his new neighbors, who can barely eek out a living in such an isolated alpine area. This also includes looking after a poor farming couple who are expecting a baby. The two married couples happen to live right next-door, to each other, and predictably become mutual friends. Not too long thereafter, while treating a different patent for a gunshot wound, the Doctor explains that the injured arm must be amputated. In response to this terrible diagnosis, the distraught man first admits he will commit suicide instead of living on without a limb. Then, as a sort of parting favor, the patient ,goes on to reveal that the expectant father and the good Doctor's wife are actually lovers. Such shocking news is more than this dying husband can handle.
