Running Mates (2000)

A woman disrobes by a pool. We briefly see her bare buns in full view, two shots.

Women have a non-explicit discussion about how they've all slept with the same man.

A woman exits an airplane bathroom, clothes rumpled and hair somewhat messy. A man exits shortly afterward, implying that they just had sex. The man briefly, non-explicitly mentions the situation to another man.

An abortion clinic is bombed off screen. We do not see anything, but we hear that people have been killed, and a politician gives an angry speech condemning the bombers.

Some heated arguments.

Frequent mild-to-moderate profanity, including bitch/bitching/son of a bitch, bastard, ass, damn, hell, piss. Mild references to sex.

One of the key characters is an alcoholic. She is seen drunk or drinking on several occasions. This is clearly a problem for her family, as they are upset with the situation.

The bombing of the abortion clinic is a serious, somewhat emotional issue.

Alcoholism is shown in a negative light.

This film shows the cutthroat, behind-the-scenes culture of modern politicking. Characters are frequently shown using people in an end-justifies-the-means way.

This film is lighthearted overall, but touches on a few serious issues.
