Keserü szerelem (1912)

A prosperous family living in Budapest has two unmarried daughters. The older one a beautiful blonde girl (Ica Lenkeffy) loves a hussar, but secretly, because his mother patronizes a wealthy and full-bodied old suitor. The secret meeting of the young lovers is interrupted by the girl's sister. She warns his sister that their parents are coming. The hussar is hiding, the two girls start to make a cotton ball. Soon the parents really arrive. The father who notices the hussar's cap accidentally left behind, hides it under the bench. The old man arrives soon and he confesses his love to the girl on his knees, but she is laughing at him and pulls him up. The old suitor complains to the mother who encourages him. The father opposed the marriage but he can't fight with the will of the dragon nature mother. The younger girl and the father figure out to pour Hunyadi János bitter water in the old man's coffee. The father goes to the pharmacy to obtain the bitter water. At the engagement lunch the younger girl pours the laxatives in the old man's coffee. The old man with flowers in his hand is proposing and gives the flowers to the girl, but suddenly he has to run out. The toilet is closed, and he is running out to the street. He jumps in a carriage, and there he doesn't able to resist. He pulls down the shades, but cab driver becomes suspicious and he bundles the old man out of the carriage. Meanwhile, the family is laughing at the successful joke. The mother learns that her daughter loves the hussar officer, and gives her blessing for this relationship.
