Commander Lawin (1981)

The story of Vietnam war hero Reno (Dante Varona) and his bloody and violent battle against a corrupt regime. In an effort to take control of all the land, the corrupt Major and Police Chief massacre Reno's family. However, Reno manages to escape and is saved by a group of rebels led by Commander Byron. A dawn attack aided by massive firepower enables the government troops to wipe out Reno's group in a bloody battle and when defeat is inevitable Reno escapes into the forest with his girlfriend Lydia. Commander Byron is mortally wounded in an attack by the government and on his deathbed bed promoted Reno because of his expertise in guerilla warfare and named him "Commander Lawin." The government learns of the fact that Reno is now leading the rebels and enlisted the services of a former war buddy of Reno's in an effort to match his skill in guerilla tactics.
