Crete on Fire (1947)

Set against the backdrop of World War II, and the dark times of the German Occupation of Greece, the film pivots around the Nazis' invasion by air during the Battle of Crete in 1941, and the hopeless love of a young couple. The movie portrays the legendary resistance of the Cretans, depicting the bravery and the sacrifice of the Greek patriots who defended their land against the Germans.
