The Shepherd's Daughter (1955)

Somewhere in a small village of mountainous mid-nineteenth-century Greece, the stalwart and affluent chief-herder, Mitros, gives fair Kroustallo a golden cross, as an innocent token of his admiration. As a result, blind with jealousy, Liakos, an impoverished young shepherd and Kroustallo's secret beau, attacks Mitros, his saviour and benefactor, intent on murder. Now, the disgraced young man has no place in the peaceful community, and as if that weren't enough, he's about to lose his one true love forever. Will this regretful incident mark the end of an ardent romance?
