With his gravely ill wife needing immediate medical attention, the financially hard-pressed soap-factory owner, Aristides Yaroukos, entrusts the managing director, Fotis Antoniadis, with his firm. However, in a shameless act of betrayal, Aristides' right hand for twenty years along with the company's equally despicable accountant, manage to take control of the plant, leaving its founder penniless. One decade later, Aristides' lawyer son, Yannis, returns in his hometown of Athens, utterly unaware of the family's humble status--and as fate would have it--he falls in love with Anna, the beautiful daughter of the firm's former director.
